Krabi Holidays and Thailand Holidays

Krabi Holidays

Krabi’s beaches are cut from a different cloth with stretches of sand that are characterised by the limestone cliffs that back them. Krabi’s distinctive limestone cliffs line the region’s 150km of coastline, rising out of the ocean and play a central part in Krabi’s tourism industry. Holidaymakers come from all over the world to bask on the blonde beaches beneath them.

Lured by the endless opportunities to relax, The Ko Phi Phi National Marine Park, just off the Krabi mainland, is dotted with semi-deserted and uninhabited islands. Boat trips run to them regularly from the mainland and the national parks in Krabi’s interior also let you get with one with nature. These nature reserves are contoured with rock pools, waterfalls, thermal springs and caves.

Head to Ao Nang, you’ll find a small but perfectly formed beach resort with a collection of restaurants and bars and despite being one of Krabi’s best-known resorts, it’s not bowed to all the trappings of tourism. The 2km beach is still largely sunbed free whilst traditional Thai long tail boats, shaped like bananas, bob in the waters close to the shore.

Ao Nang is also Krabi’s shopping hub where the boutiques sell silk cushion covers, hand-painted scarves, and gold and silver jewellery. There are some good shops in between the souvenir stalls on Noppharat Beach Road, too, selling designer-style handbags and custom-made jewellery.

A few paces back from the beach you’ll find laid-back bars that play chill-out music, whilst you experience some of Krabi’s best sunsets.
